What is the Public Perception and Confidence Level in our Criminal and Civil Justice system in Alberta?
The path to injustice at the Lethbridge Courthouse is a familiar one, particularly for under-represented groups. Truth and Reconciliation has yet to reveal the full breadth of disproportionate, unfair treatment.
Why do Albertans have access to no-fee lawyers and legal support services at the Calgary Courthouse but not at the Lethbridge Courthouse?
This inequitable and unfair distribution of resources creates disparity and disadvantage for persons forced to participate in proceedings in Lethbridge pursuant to Alberta Regulation. The FairWAY Journal will be following the trials in Lethbridge for Defendants who are barred access to the King’s Bench Court Assistance Program (KB Amicus) and the Civil Claims Duty Counsel program (CCDC) for the Alberta Court of Justice.
The Alberta Law Library in Lethbridge was without a clerk for nearly two years. We will explore the outcome of that absence of service. The Lawyer referral program caesed in September 2023. RCAS encourages self represented litigants to practise by watching civil trials in order to gain experience. All Lethbridge Court clerks I have communited with continue to prohibit SLR's from attending civil trials, as spectators, through Webex. Finally, RCAS does not provide services to persons in Lethbridge except for family matters.
THE COUTTS THREE TRIAL IS ON NOW.
From Jury Nullification motions and publication bans to allegatons of corruption and getting banned from court proceedings. Social media has certainly been buzzing but the buzz is straight from the mouth of Defendant, Marco Van Huigenbos. Marco has been very forthright about his making his concerns public but is there any truth to it? Let's unpack what Marco has to say The truth may surprise you!
THE CLARESHOLM GOLF CLUB
This historically male dominated, non-racialized, Board of Directors certainly drew my intention last year. I was one of the individuals who was permanently injured during the course of employment. This inspired me, in part, to advocate for those underrepresented groups who are currently being subjected to a maligned form of treatment when attempting to access services and programs at the Lethbridge Court facility. I will be posting updates about the Claresholm Golf Club's lawsuits and we will follow the stories of four woman who want to tell their side.
LETHBRIDGE COURT - DISCRIMINATIO N
As I contemplate the unthinkable, in filing a Human Rights Complaint against Alberta Court Justice Services (CJS) Division and Court of Kings Bench Administration, specific to this Lethbridge Courthouse, it has left me with a sense of post-traumatic déjà vu
